Here are a few guidelines for women on ways to improve their overall nutritional and physical health:<\/p>\n<p>Eat healthy:<br \/>\n-Eat a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains every day.<br \/>\n-Limit foods and drinks high in calories, sugar, salt, fat, and alcohol.<br \/>\n-Eat a balanced diet to help keep a healthy weight. <\/p>\n<p>Be active:<br \/>\nBe active for at least 2\u00bd hours a week. Include activities that raise your breathing and heart rates and that strengthen your muscles.<br \/>\nHelp kids and teens be active for at least 1 hour a day. Include activities that raise their breathing and heart rates and that strengthen their muscles and bones. <\/p>\n<p>Protect yourself:<br \/>\n-Wear helmets, seat belts, sunscreen, and insect repellent.<br \/>\n-Wash hands to stop the spread of germs.<br \/>\n-Avoid smoking and breathing other people\u2019s smoke.<br \/>\n-Build safe and healthy relationships with family and friends.<br \/>\n-Be ready for emergencies. Make a supply kit. Make a plan. Be informed. <\/p>\n<p>Manage stress:<br \/>\n-Balance work, home, and play.<br \/>\n-Get support from family and friends.<br \/>\n-Stay positive.<br \/>\n-Take time to relax.<br \/>\n-Get 7-9 hours of sleep each night.<br \/>\nMake sure kids get more, based on their age.<br \/>\n-Get help or counseling if needed. <\/p>\n<p>This is also a good time to take inventory of your current nutritional status and make necessary lifestyles.
